1. Accepted Payment Methods on Gramodhaya.in

Gramodhaya facilitates payments for products and services offered by independent third-party vendors on its marketplace through authorised payment service providers. The following payment methods may be made available to users at the time of checkout, subject to eligibility, location, and vendor preferences:

  • Unified Payment Interface (UPI)
  • Credit Cards and Debit Cards
  • Net Banking
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) (for eligible orders and pin codes)

Availability of specific payment methods may vary depending on the product, vendor, delivery location, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.

2. Role of Gramodhaya as Marketplace Intermediary

Gramodhaya operates solely as a marketplace intermediary and does not collect, store, or retain customer funds in its own capacity. All electronic payments are processed through Razorpay, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator. Gramodhaya facilitates transactions and charges a commission ranging between 12% to 15% from vendors, as agreed under the vendor agreement.

Payments made by users are directly collected on behalf of the respective vendors, subject to applicable settlement cycles, deductions, and statutory compliances.

Responsibility for verification of receipt of payment, reconciliation, and settlement lies with the respective vendor, in accordance with the vendor agreement executed with Gramodhaya and the terms of the payment service provider.

Vendor settlements may be subject to deductions including but not limited to platform commission, applicable payment gateway charges, COD handling fees (where applicable), and taxes such as GST on commission, in accordance with the vendor agreement and applicable laws.

Payments processed on the Platform are routed through authorised payment gateway infrastructure, including Razorpay’s designated nodal or escrow accounts, in accordance with applicable RBI guidelines governing payment aggregators and marketplace intermediaries.

3. Credit and Debit Card Payments

The following cards issued in India may be accepted through Razorpay, subject to bank and network approvals:

Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, American Express (subject to gateway availability)
Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Maestro

International cards may be accepted where enabled by Razorpay and the issuing bank.

Currency Conversion

For international cards, Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) or Multi-Currency Pricing (MCP) may apply. In such cases:

  • Customers may choose to pay either in INR or their base currency.
  • Conversion fees, forex charges, or service fees imposed by issuing banks shall be borne by the customer.
  • Gramodhaya does not levy or control currency conversion charges.

4. Card Storage, Tokenisation & RBI Guidelines

  • Card storage and tokenisation shall be governed strictly by RBI guidelines.
  • Gramodhaya does not store card details.
  • Card details, where saved, are tokenised and securely stored by the payment service provider.
  • Users may be required to provide explicit consent for saving cards.
  • Cards saved across multiple accounts may be removed as per RBI norms.

5. Unified Payment Interface (UPI)

UPI payments are facilitated through Razorpay-supported UPI applications and are generally processed instantly.

UPI payments may fail or remain pending due to:

  • Incorrect UPI ID
  • Insufficient bank balance

  • Timeouts or connectivity issues

Gramodhaya shall not be liable for UPI failures attributable to banks, NPCI, payment apps, or user error.

Cash on Delivery may be offered at Gramodhaya’s discretion for select products, vendors, and serviceable pin codes.

COD orders may be paid using:

  • Digital methods such as UPI Scan & Pay, where enabled by delivery partners

Important COD Conditions:

  • Gramodhaya does not accept ₹2,000 currency notes for COD payments, in line with RBI advisories.
  • COD may not be available for certain promotional items or bulk orders.
  • COD convenience or handling fees, if applicable, shall be disclosed at checkout and shall be non-refundable.

7. Payment Failures, Declines & Pending Transactions

Payments may fail or remain pending due to reasons including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect card or bank details
  • Card blocked for online usage
  • UPI timeouts
  • Bank security checks
  • Technical outages at bank or gateway level
  • Abnormal spending patterns flagged by banks

Banks do not share specific decline reasons with Gramodhaya. Users are advised to contact their issuing bank directly for resolution.

7.1 Failed but Debited Transactions

In certain situations, a payment may be successfully debited from the customer’s account but the order may not be confirmed on the Platform due to technical or network issues.

In such cases, the debited amount is typically reversed automatically by the bank or payment gateway within standard banking timelines, usually within 3–7 working days.

Customers are advised to wait for the normal reversal period before raising a support request.

8. Retrying a Failed Payment

If a payment fails, users may retry by:

  • Visiting Your Orders
  • Selecting the relevant order
  • Choosing Retry Payment or Change Payment Method
  • Completing the payment using an alternate method

Orders may be auto-cancelled if payment is not completed within the prescribed timeframe.

Gramodhaya may assist in facilitating communication but does not guarantee resolution of third-party payment disputes.

10. Vendor Responsibility for Settlements

Vendors are solely responsible for:

  • Monitoring payment settlements
  • Verifying receipt of funds
  • Reconciling transactions through Razorpay dashboards
  • Addressing settlement discrepancies with the payment service provider

Gramodhaya shall not be liable for delays caused by banks, gateways, holidays, or regulatory restrictions.

11. Refunds & Chargebacks

Refunds shall be processed in accordance with Gramodhaya’s Cancellation & Refund Policy, applicable RBI guidelines, and payment gateway timelines. Refunds for prepaid orders are typically processed within 9–15 days, while refunds for COD orders are processed within 12–15 days, subject to banking timelines and payment mode.

  • Refunds are credited only to the original payment method or authorised bank account of the user.
  • Refund timelines may vary based on payment mode.
  • Gramodhaya does not process refunds to third-party accounts.

Chargebacks, where applicable, shall be governed by bank and card network rules.

Gramodhaya reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or restriction of user accounts, in cases of suspected fraud, misuse of payment systems, repeated Cash on Delivery order refusals, chargeback abuse, or other activities that may compromise the integrity of the Platform or its payment processes.

11.1 Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in situations where individual items in a multi-item order are cancelled, returned, or unavailable.

Customers may cancel individual items prior to dispatch, subject to the applicable cancellation policy. If a seller cancels a part of the order due to stock unavailability, a proportional refund for the affected item shall be issued automatically.

For delivered orders, refunds may be processed for specific returned items following verification in accordance with the applicable return policy.

12. Disclaimer

Gramodhaya shall not be liable for:

  • Payment gateway outages
  • Bank-level delays or failures
  • Incorrect user-provided payment details
  • Regulatory or force majeure disruptions
